Working with Reality

& Truths of Life

ABOUT THIS COURSE

Truths of Life are beliefs that are true and resonate strongly with you. They sit in the Computer and help guide how you respond to situations. The Chimp cannot work with reality on its own, so it looks to the Computer for guidance. Truths of Life provide that guidance by feeding reality back to the Chimp, helping to settle it and bring you back into Human mode.

You will also be introduced to the idea of identifying a small number of ‘Grade A Hits’ — the truths that work most effectively for you and can be used consistently in everyday situations.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

This course explain why the Chimp reacts to how it expects things to be, how this can lead to frustration when reality doesn’t match, and how using truths of life can help you work with reality and respond more constructively.

Understanding how the Chimp sets expectations for how things should be, and why it reacts emotionally when reality does not match those expectations.

Learning how the Human accepts what is happening and focuses on deciding what to do next, rather than reacting to what cannot be controlled.

How a simple prompt can shift control to the Human, helping you move from reaction to response and begin finding a solution.

Understanding that truths of life are personal beliefs that are true and resonate strongly with you, and how they guide your thinking and behaviour.

How truths of life feed reality back to the Chimp, helping to reduce emotional reactions and support a more stable, constructive response.
